README (2041B)
1 wmgen 2 ===== 3 4 wmgen is a starting project skeleton + generator for applications using the 5 Window Maker WINGs library[1]. 6 7 [1]: https://www.windowmaker.org/docs/wings.html 8 9 10 Usage 11 ----- 12 13 Either 14 15 1. run ./wmgen and answer questions, 16 17 or 18 19 2. copy files to a new directory yourself and edit them. 20 21 22 Known Bugs 23 ---------- 24 25 - WINGs bug: when "Shared application icon" is selected for an application 26 generated with wmgen, one of the two things happen, depending on whether 27 WMMapSubwidgets and WMMapWidget for the main window is called before (A) or 28 after (B) creating the main menu: 29 30 A) Every instance of that application will generate a "phantom copy" of the 31 application menu, which persists after closing the application, can't be 32 closed with xkill, apparently isn't associated with any process, and for 33 which xprop doesn't detect any properties. Interestingly, when the main 34 application is closed, and relaunched, the extra copies of menus work in 35 the new instance. 36 37 B) The menu is not shown at all. This is the same behavior/known bug as in 38 FSViewer. 39 40 I chose to follow option (B), same behavior as in FSViewer. I believe that 41 having no menu at all, and behaving consistently with known application is 42 better than having leftover uncloseable copies of menus around. 43 44 45 License 46 ------- 47 48 wmgen - WINGs application skeleton + generator 49 Copyright (C) 2023-2024 Страхиња Радић 50 51 This program is free software: you can redistribute it and/or modify it under 52 the terms of the GNU General Public License as published by the Free Software 53 Foundation, either version 3 of the License, or (at your option) any later 54 version. 55 56 This program is distributed in the hope that it will be useful, but WITHOUT ANY 57 WARRANTY; without even the implied warranty of MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR A 58 PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
